PDF Dark Mode

A bright white PDF tires your eyes at night. Make the pages dark with light text, invert all colours for maximum contrast, or use a warm sepia tone.

Pages are turned into images, so the text in the result cannot be selected or searched. Keep the original if you need the text.

Your files stay on your device. Processing happens entirely in your browser.

How to PDF Dark Mode

  1. Drop or choose your PDF.
  2. Choose dark mode, full invert or sepia, and a resolution.
  3. Click "Convert" and download the new PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between dark mode and invert?

Invert turns every colour into its opposite, so photos look like negatives. Dark mode only flips brightness and keeps the hues, so a red heading stays red and photos stay recognisable. It also uses a soft dark grey instead of pure black.

Why can I no longer select the text?

Each page is redrawn as an image to change its colours. If you need searchable text, run the result through Image to Text (OCR).

Which resolution should I choose?

Normal (150 DPI) suits screens. Low makes a smaller file. High keeps small print sharper but makes the file bigger.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser and your PDF never leaves your device.
