EPUB to PDF

Open a DRM-free EPUB e-book and get a PDF you can print or read anywhere. Each chapter starts on a new page, the table of contents becomes bookmarks and the text stays selectable.

Working…

Your book stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

  1. Choose or drop an .epub file.
  2. Pick paper size, margins, font, text size and whether to add a cover page.
  3. Click "Download PDF" and wait while the book is laid out.

Frequently asked questions

What does the PDF look like?

The text is laid out again on the paper size you choose. Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, lists, tables, quotes, code, links and images are kept and every chapter starts on a new page. The book's own fonts, colours and CSS layout are not used.

Are the table of contents and the cover kept?

Yes. The table of contents (nav.xhtml or toc.ncx) becomes PDF bookmarks that jump to each chapter. If the book has a cover image it can be added as the first page; otherwise a simple title page with the title and author is created.

Why does my EPUB not open?

Books protected with DRM (for example Adobe DRM from online stores) are encrypted and cannot be converted; the tool tells you when it finds this. DRM-free books, such as those from Project Gutenberg, many publishers or your own files, work fine. A damaged file that is not a valid ZIP also cannot be opened.

Are there size limits?

Yes, to keep your browser responsive: EPUB files up to 50 MB, up to 600 chapters and 400 images. JPEG and PNG images are embedded as they are; GIF, WebP and SVG images are converted. For a smaller file, run the result through Compress PDF.

Which languages are supported?

Books in Latin-script languages, including Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish and Indonesian. Letters from other scripts (Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and so on) and emoji appear as "?".

Is my book uploaded?

No. The book is opened and converted entirely in your browser. You can stop the conversion at any time with "Cancel". For web pages use HTML to PDF. To turn a PDF into an e-book, use PDF to EPUB.
