Alternate & Mix PDF

With a single-sided scanner you scan all the fronts, then all the backs. This tool merges the two files as front 1, back 1, front 2, back 2 and so on, and can fix backs that came out in reverse order.

Your files stay on your device. Processing happens entirely in your browser.

How to Alternate & Mix PDF

  1. Add the PDF with the fronts first, then the one with the backs.
  2. If the backs were scanned last page first, keep "Reverse" selected.
  3. Click "Alternate Merge" and download the single PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the backs in reverse order?

When you flip the stack over and scan again, the back of the last page is scanned first. "Reverse" fixes that automatically.

What if the files have different page counts?

Once the shorter file runs out, the remaining pages of the longer one are added at the end.

How is this different from a normal merge?

{tool:merge} joins files end to end. This tool interleaves them one page at a time.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
